MORON LIFE
The name Moron Life started as a play on words. When first starting the brand in February 2004, the goal Lon Lopez had was to create a comedy show for the web that offered different and funny takes on the world around him. He wanted to bring his audience more on life. Yet never wanting to take life too seriously, and being a bit a goof himself, Lon immediately caught the word play right then and decided that Moron Life was a perfect name for the show he wanted to produce.
Moron Life started as an independently produced, self funded sketch comedy show shot entirely in San Jose, California. The goal was to epitomize the true spirit of local television by serving as a humorous commentary on life and providing a showcase for local comedic and musical talent. The show mixed sketches with comedic segues, satirical remotes, pop culture parodies, musical performances and random vignettes.
Moron Life eventually evolved from a cable access sketch comedy show into a comedy website featuring videos, reviews and editorial columns. Soon after Moron Life began covering various entertainment events like Comic Con and SF Sketch Fest as well as movie premieres and promotions and a full-blown entertainment site was born.
In over it’s ten years of existence Moron Life has been featured on iTunes ( in the “New and Notable” section for podcasts), G4 Tech TV, The New York Post (10 Video Podcasts that are cool enough to turn off your TV to), The Washington Post, The Toronto Star, Inside Edition, VEOH, and The Dr. Demento Show.
Irreverent and edgy and sometimes downright stupid, Moron Life’s goal is to have something to say and hopefully it’s intelligent, entertaining and funny. We’re here to bring you more… all the while, living that Moron Life.
